As a child and young adult, I sometimes used free time to draw colorful doodles or abstract images with bright markers or crayons. In the summer of 1990, while staying in the Baha’i Center in Chiayi City, Taiwan, I collaborated with a friend in making a large abstract image with some bright markers, and this shirt presents a nine-pointed star design created from photographs of that old picture. The shirt is extremely bright and colorful, and I think it conveys a joyful and exuberant feeling. The original drawing was made between prayers and religious classes, so there may be some of that feeling in the pattern as well.
